Savant TrueControl II App Reviews

Good functionality, but crashes constantly

Since iOS9 (as if 9.0.2) app crashes multiple times on startup. Reinstalled, but same result. Once its running, its very useful and way better than other alternatives Id used before. Nevertheless, the UI can use some work - overly complicated, especially for playing audio in different zones.

Crashes all the time

Every time you go back to the app it crashes. Super annoying.

New update crashes

Ever since the new update it always crashes, doesnt remember my password, or just doesnt work. Its so depressing.

App Crashes

App crashes every time since update to iOS-9. In past few months have replaced Savant Lighting due to instability of controllers; replaced Savant music server; and looking to replace Savant TV system. Awful customer support. Should not be in the Home Automation business.

Awful since last update

Ever since the latest update this app crashes almost every time its loaded, usually multiple times. Some buttons have to be pushed multiple times before reacting and some buttons dont react at all, like number 8. Please fix it now!!!

Crashes every time on ios9

No support, no updates. Horrible experience.

Needs update

Constantly crashes. Please update.

Savant app

Ever since upgrading my iPads to ios9 the application crashes constantly.

Way too complex

If you were considering savant, you need to be prepared to hire a home IT professional. Thats what your Savant integrator will become to you. Something as simple as getting a new phone will require your savant integrator to reprogram your system so you new phone can interact with it. You will not be able to do this by yourself. The system is highly complex and will essentially mean that your Savant integrator will become your home IT manager. Before buying the system you need to ask your integrator what average annual costs his current clients are incurring to maintain their systems. One way to think of Savant is that it is the most expensive imaginable Way to construct an app folder. If you just get Honeywell thermostats and security apps, you dont need an IT manager and the hardware costs 1/10 as much. Then you can drag the icons on top of each other and essentially have a Savant folder, if you add remote control apps from your cable provider, and the Lutron app. These individual tools will be more reliable, and easier to use because theyre supported individually by the organizations that have sole focus to develop them.

This version seems to fix the ios9 app crashing

App no longer seems to be crashing when running iOS9. Hooray, its about time.

Improved

No longer crashes on iOS 9. Crunkelstiltskin - contact your integrator to get your media server updated. The newer firmware now returns artist name in Spotify search results

No iPhone 6 optimization

Pretty sure they only update small portions of the app to hide current reviews.... Have spoken to their corporate center multiple times and they are extremely rude. Although application works on iPhone 6 they have never optimized the application for the iPhone 5 resolution and now they havent completed the 6 optimization. Meaning that everything looks stretched and pixelated. These guys are only concerned with sales and populate the reviews to inflate ratings. If they truly cared they would optimize these resolutions so that the applications beauty actually matched the systems price tag.

$60k spent on Savant - wasted

I spent $60k on this savant system - expecting software updates for the foreseeable future. 2 years later and theyve stopped updating this app and came out with an entirely new product line rendering mine obsolete. ABSOLUTE CRIMINALS

Please update Spotify interface

I really like the Savant platform and this app is pretty good; however, I use the Spotify feature a lot and that interface is very clunky and outdated. For instance, if you search for an album and start at a given song on that album Savant will not automatically continue with the rest of the album. That is irritating. Or if you search for a song by title the display only shows the song name, not the artist, so if it is a common song or one that has been covered by other bands you cant necessarily choose the one from the band you want - you have to pick from the list and skip forward until you find the one you want. These are standard playback options in the Spotify app itself so it is frustrating that given the investment in this platform Savant cant or wont integrate these features into their app. I emailed Savant directly about these issues and they basically said "thanks for the email" but made no changes. Edit to add - The Spotify interface has been down for nearly a week. I called into Savant service on Monday. They said they were getting reports of the problem; however, they still have not fixed it. Boo. It has been a week and no sign of a fix. I am totally disappointed with this system.

Frustrating to use when it constantly freezes and doesnt work

This app keeps freezing and the wifi keeps disconnecting. All the systems are working and Internet is working. It comes down to the faulty app.

This thing stinks

Interface and functionality seems circa 1999. Impossible to find what you need quickly - not intuitive. Nothing you can do to troubleshoot system without calling the installer. I feel like I got hoodwinked.
